Kirksville
There's more to do than you initially realize. There's Pickler's Famous, the train bridge, Pancake City, Walmart, a skate park, 1000 Hills State Park. Kirksville square is adorable and the locals are all very friendly :) I love it here :)

Don't Let Reslife Fool You, Its Cheaper Than on Campus
I figured my on-campus and off-campus living expenses for next year, and moving off campus will end up saving me approximately $1,400 for the year. This includes all the utilities and food expenses for the house I'll be renting.
There are all kinds of decently priced houses and apartments to rent near campus. Naturally, some are nicer than others, and some are closer to campus than others, but I have not come across any terrible places.

Haha. Athletics.
I'm not too sure about the other sports, but my friends and I go to football games to watch our friends in the band, and leave after half-time. We've lost our HOMECOMING game for at least the last 2 years.

I've Never Had Any Problems
I feel completely safe walking across campus at any time of day/night. There are your occasional petty crimes like theft, but never really anything major. The biggest thing is minors getting drunk and getting MIPs.

Prepare for It!
Bring rainboots and umbrellas.
Bring snowboots and gloves.
Once it starts snowing it generally doesn't stop until about April. So be ready for that.
But when its nice, its GORGEOUS.
