Off-Campus Living in a City
Unlike most city schools which only require students to live on campus for 1 year, Emerson requires students to live on campus for at least 2 years. Because we are located in Boston, apartments in the surrounding areas are quite expensive, and the transportation of choice - the T - is not known to be the most reliable form of transportation.

Drugs and Alcohol Are Prevalent, but Avoidable
Of course, some students take drugs, and some do hard drugs at Emerson, but it is easy to avoid the drug scene if you don't want to take a part in it. Alcohol is more prevalent, yet like other drugs, it is possible to avoid the scene.

Winter Doesn't Hinder Daily Life
Since we are located in Boston, New England weather and a cold winter are hard to escape. Yet since campus is so small, the weather isn't a hindrance to daily life in my opinion. Classes get canceled rarely, and if you live on-campus it is never difficult to get to any of the college buildings.
