Small Program but Great Quality

Hofstra University's music program has many pros and just one con. The faculty is composed of amazing musicians with incredibly impressive resumes. The professors are experts in their fields of study. However, it is not an official "School of Music", most likely due to its size. It is a small and tight-knit program which has both a major advantage and disadvantage. Unlike at large and competitive music schools, you are guaranteed the attention you need and are treated like a true individual. The disadvantage about the small size is that there are not many options regarding with whom to study. So if one professor does not click with you, you might possibly be out of luck.
