Beautiful Outside, Usable Inside
While the outside of Sarah Lawrence buildings primarily retain the original Tudor style architecture, the rooms inside are modern classrooms, cozy offices, beautiful dance studios, and multi-purpose free spaces. My favorites are the downstage theater and the "theaters" in the bottom of Bates. The walls are all black and the seating is completely movable. I've been to concerts, plays, dance performances and dances in these spaces because they allow SLC students to be as creative as possible.
Some of the spaces do need a little makeover when it comes to things like paint and flooring, but I believe that is in the works...

Graffiti Doesn't Scare Me
Literally the only crime I've witnessed on campus is graffiti. People take free expression really seriously, so there's always new art or messages posted around campus. Occasionally there's some controversy over whether something is hate speech, but it is always dealt with immediately. The campus is small and secure, with vans always running/available and emergency call towers everywhere. Really, if the only thing I can think of is minor vandalism, it's got to be pretty safe.

A Train Is a Shuttle Ride Away
The train station, which can take you right to Grand Central, is only a 15 min walk from main campus. But to make it even easier for you, the school provides shuttles that run twice an hour to and from the station right when the train is departing or arriving. Even if you're not going to the train station, it's a really convenient way to get into town and hang out. Love the shuttles.
