Inside Scoop at University of Connecticut

Hello, Spring Weekend

Whenever Spring Weekend season comes around, the school becomes somewhat unstable. Everyone is anxious for exams and ultimately the semester to end. Uconn is most famous for the 4-day weekend where everyone roams freely around campus, open parties and free drinks. There are activities to do during the day (i.e. on-campus carnival games, free food, and oozeball). At night though, is when 'the freaks come out.'People fly in from other schools just to attend this event.

Gimme My Money!

Financial Aid time has to be the most frustrating part of college. Not only is it an agonizing process, but I didn't receive the money I thought I would. Also, my papers somehow became lost so I had to constantly make appointments with my on-campus financial aid help.

Health & Safety at University of Connecticut

Pretty Safe

There is an on-campus police station that definitely does it's job. I have to be honest and say that there have been unfornate murders and rapes on campus. However when it comes to making sure that students are safe especially while drunk, there are on-campus guard dogs that take you to and from your destination. There are also emergency stops that you can call for help.

Off-Campus Dining at University of Connecticut

Blah..

The off-campus restaurants aren't the best. There are a couple of the same restaurants located on different ends of the campus. They sell the typical wings, pizza and sandwiches. There are also Subways, Wendy's and a Friendly's but nothing interesting or appealing to go out for a nice evening.
