Off-Campus Housing at Stetson University

D+

Very Little That Isn't Campus Housing.

The campus housing and apartments are decent in number, but geographically they are the best place to live. Commuter parking is low and the residence halls surround the central campus area. The nearest apartments that the school does not own are a car ride away, but you have to get through town first.

Transportation at Stetson University

What Transportation?

Frankly, I think I've seen a couple of bus stops on North Woodland as it runs past campus. I've never actually seen a bus there though. It's a two lane road so it would stop traffic completely, no question. I personally have my own car and have since I was a freshman. I've never had to use a bus around campus and I don't know anyone who has. If you are just trying to get around campus from one class to another, you don't need transportation. All of the buildings are easily within walking distance of each other.

Inside Scoop at Stetson University

A

Always Something

When you arrive as a freshman, you arrive earlier than all other students on campus. You spend the first few days on campus with a focus group which is a group of about 15 to 20 freshmen guided by two returning students called focus leaders. These people let you come and ask any questions you may have. They will show you around to where your classes will be, explain the best parts of campus and give you all of the insight they know about classes, campus, professors, you name it. The focus days are also filled with ice breaker games and parties that the focus leaders throw you. They really want you to be comfortable and confident before you ever step into a classroom.

Once you have moved past that, there are still plenty of things to do. People attend the intramural sporting events that seem to go all year round. Every Friday night a group called Hatter Productions does a free movie in the Stetson room. There are plays and performances by our school of music as well.
