Commercial Music Program Rocks
It's incredibly unique to be a Commercial Music major. I applied to 8 schools across the country and none compared to Belmont. The love and dedication I feel radiating from my professors is almost a strong as their desire to help me succeed. The community here is phenomenal and even though I feel overwhelmed a lot of the time with the workload, I continue to embrace new things and take on new challenges because I love music so much. This spring I'm studying abroad in the Balkans and couldn't be more excited to go with other members of my studio and voice professor.

Diversity
Overall Belmont's student population is pretty diverse. It's heavily populated with music students, but that might be because I mostly associate with music students and have all my classes with them. Regardless of the reason, I'm not complaining. There are a lot of hipsters on campus. Fewer this year than last. Student dating is very common. There's quite a bit of diversity in how students dress and spend their leisure time. Belmont is a very social campus. I've also seen an increase in racial diversity within the last year which has been nice.

Too Little Too Late
I don't have a car here but most of my friends do and parking is a joke. They continue to build new parking garages and dorms but they're increasing enrollment much too quickly to be providing the necessary accommodations. Weekends are the best time to find a parking spot because a lot of kids with cars don't hang around on campus. But during the week? Good luck. Finding a good parking spot is like finding a winning lottery ticket. You don't need to have a car to get around on campus. It's exceedingly helpful though to know people with cars to get around the city. Also it's a matter of personal convenience.
