Variety
Providence is a city (albeit a small one) and cities come with many dining options. If you want to eat out, head up to Thayer or Wickenden Streets. Thayer St. has tons of casual dining places - Kabob and Curry for some Indian food, Shanghai for Chinese, SushiExpress, Antonio's Pizza and Gordito Burrito, the Creperie (yum!) and many other places. Wickenden has a great Thai place, among others. My favorite place in Providence is downtown, only a few blocks from Kennedy Plaza - Cuban Revolution. If you want to order in, there are tons of places that deliver. Check out Big Tony's for some good Italian food, and Cafe 412 for some great sandwiches.

It's All About Basketball
Providence College is all about the men's basketball team, and let's face it, they're not that good. Still, most of the student body goes to the games, and it's always a fun experience (although it can get frustrating when they lose, again.) The Women's basketball team plays on campus, games are free, and they're better than the men's team -- so check out a game or two! Men's hockey is also always a fun time, is free for students, and is right on campus. It doesn't all have to be about the men's basketball.

Done With Civ?
A lot of people complain about Providence College's Development of Western Civilization program, but it's part of what makes the school different and the program has many strengths. Every student is required to take two years of Civ, studying the development of western civilization from mythical times to modern day through four different disciplines: history, literature, theology and philosophy. That way, a well-rounded (if a little Catholic biased -- after all, Providence IS a Catholic college) understanding of western civilization can be gained. People may complain about Civ while they're in it, but once they're out, most will agree - it really wasn't that bad.
