Ibby's is a new addition to Wash U's dining options. Ibby's is a full service restaurant located in the Danforth University Center. Serving local organic produce and meals that differ from the rest of campus food has made Ibby's a very popular place to spend meal points and take visiting parents.

"The Bridge" is students' connection from off-campus housing to main campus. Although dimly lit at night, the area is continuously patrolled by Washington University Security.

The Danforth University Center, commonly called "the DUC," houses a wide array of food options. Additionally, the DUC serves as the student center on campus, where many students come to study and catch up.

Washington University's campus is exceptionally green in every sense. The environment plays a huge role in University policy and has led to the implementation of rules that ban the sale of water bottles and ban smoking on campus. Additionally, Washington University has many LEED-certified buildings. Atmospherically, the campus is inviting and beautifully laid out.

One of the nicest things about Washington University is that it is easy to have small classes from first semester freshman year onward. It is very common to see many small seminar-style classes taking place outside on nice days.

Brookings Quad is surrounded by many academic buildings. Holmes Lounge Café is located at the far side of the Quad. Brookings Quad is home to WILD, which is Wash U's largest concert.

The fire pit outside of the Danforth University Center is one of the nicest places to study and meet friends on nice days. It is centrally located and surrounded by the bookstore, café, and Subway restaurant.

The Knight Center is an on-campus hotel. It hosts weekend brunches and is a convenient place for family and friends to stay while visiting.

Washington University is academically demanding. However, the campus atmosphere changes dramatically in the spring when students leave the library and spread out around campus to study.

Francis Field is the main athletic field on campus. Washington University has many really strong Division III teams and frequently wins NCAA championships in basketball and volleyball.

The Underpass connects main campus with freshman and sophomore housing. The Underpass is always painted by different organizations, fraternities, and sororities to advertise for upcoming events and parties.

Sophomore dorms are located on the area of campus known as the "South Forty." The South Forty houses all underclassmen. Sophomore rooms come in suites of four and six. The four-person suites are four single rooms and a shared living room and bathroom. The six-person suites have two double and two single rooms with a living room and bathroom.

The South Forty houses contain the freshman and sophomore dining area, as well as freshman class housing. The food stations include: taqueria, salad bar, grill, sandwich station, and bakery.

Parking is always available on campus. Students are not allowed to bring cars until their sophomore year, and they receive parking passes based on their housing.

Biking is a widely popular way to get around campus, especially for students who live in off-campus apartments.

Freshman housing comes in two varieties. The first: modern housing for students in rooms connected by a bathroom. The second: traditional housing with communal bathrooms. Dorm rooms contain a standard twin bed, desk, and medium-sized closet.

With the exception of two houses, fraternity houses at Washington University are located on the north side of campus. Sororities do not have houses. Yet, both sororities and fraternities have a large presence on the Washington University campus.

The weather in St. Louis is tumultuous to say the least. However, the University makes every effort to build outdoor facilities. Every campus eatery has outside seating, and students spend a large majority of time outside.

A nice thing about the academic ArtSci campus is that it is easy to walk everywhere. There are no two classrooms on central campus that are more than 10 to 15 minutes apart.

Thurtene Carnival is a large Greek event held at the bottom of Brookings Hall. The sororities and fraternities spend the entire semester preparing by writing and directing skits and building themed facades.

One of the nicest things about academics at Washington University is that they are incredibly challenging without causing extreme competition between students. The academic environment is more cooperative rather than competitive.

At around 6,000 undergraduate students, Wash U is a great size. Everywhere you go you will recognize people you know sitting outside or eating lunch. However, there are always many new faces to see and people to meet.

Dorms serve as more than a place to live. Dorms operate in residential colleges and provide constant activity, ranging from floor dinners to college Olympics.

All of the underclassman dorms have many common spaces. Each has a lobby, television room, laundry room, multiple study rooms, a kitchen, and most have computer labs.

Philanthropy is a huge part of Greek life on campus. Relay For Life is a large event held every year to aid in cancer research; it's supported by many organizations, including every sorority and fraternity on campus.

In addition to a strong varsity sports program, there is huge involvement in intramural sports on campus.

Parking is very easy for most students. There are large lots outside of many of the dorms. However, it is often easier to walk or take campus circulation to classes.
