Local SD Businesses Support SDSU Students
I chose SDSU because of the numerous opportunities to make connections with real companies in San Diego with internships and career fairs. I'm only a freshman and I've already met hiring managers from 5 major companies who gave me feedback on my resume and great career advice.

Attractive People With Active Lifestyles
San Diego has great weather and SDSU is a large campus. You'll always see people walking or riding bikes enjoying the sunshine and typically wearing shorts most of the year. For the most part, the majority of SDSU students are healthy and in shape but there's a few exceptions.

Strict Rules for the Dorms - Stay Classy
The first weekend of school a lot of people went crazy and some even passed out in the elevators and stair wells. Folks were taken to the hospital with alcohol poisoning. That being said, my advice is to be smart and know your limit and don't be too obvious. Because if you're written up for alcohol (or drugs) you not only risk being kicked out of housing but kicked out of SDSU and if you're Greek then you're going to get in trouble with your fraternity or sorority too.

Rush is stressful but so worth it!
It's not easy for girls to Rush because there's a lot of competition. This year 750 girls signed up to Rush 8 sororities and each sorority gave bids out to about 70 girls each. There's more girls who want to join a sorority then there is an open spot so it was hard to see lots of tears when girls weren't chosen. I got my top choice in sorority but it wasn't easy. My advice is to be yourself and show your personality. Get a lot of sleep because it's draining to meet so many new people all at once and keep smiling. You're interviewing them to so use the time wisely when visiting each sorority house. Try and find girls you have common interests with and then you naturally end up in the right sorority.

sunshine almost every day
The weather in San Diego is great! The days are sunny and it's nice walking across campus in such beautiful weather. Students are always outside enjoying the sunshine if they're not in the library or class. Cuic dorm has a pool so you'll see people tanning in between classes too. The dorms can get warm & stuffy. Bring a fan for your dorm room. It starts cooling off at night in November but you can get by with a heavy sweatshirt. Hardly ever rains which is a big plus.

I love living in Cuicacalli Suites
Cuic suite living is the best! You share with 7 other people. I have my own single room and it's great. I have privacy when I want it or I can stick my head out and see who else is home. There's 2 bathrooms for 8 people and it's nice to only share a bathroom with 4 other girls. In the traditional dorms you have to share with the whole floor. There's even a pool to relax at after class. I became best friends with 2 of my suite mates the first weekend of school and I'm good friends with 2 others. I always have someone to go eat with or take the Trolley to Target. The other 3 girls I never even see. I actually wonder why they didn't request to live on a study only floor since they are not social at all. It's important you come to some kind of agreement re: having visitors and over night guests. And it's really convenient since the Dining Hall is in Cuic.

Free Police Escort Service
While I've never used the service personally since I am usually with my friends walking from the dorms to the gym or library, it's really nice to know that I don't ever have to walk alone at night. SDSU Police Escort Service is FREE to and from all parking areas & campus locations.

Always Something to Do When You're Greek
I'm in a sorority so we have tons of events all the time with the fraternities and other sororities including tailgates at football games, parties and formal date dances.

No Car Necessary If You Live in the Dorms
I didn't bring my car and I don't miss not having a car. It's nice to be able to walk everywhere. The public transportation is great and my friends & I take the Trolley to downtown, the football games and for shopping.
