Facilities at University of Cincinnati

Nothing Special

I came to UC on scholarship, with that being one of only a few reasons that I selected the school over my longtime dream of attending the Ohio State University. I came here expecting good facilities, based upon the claims of many students from my high school. However, the facilities are extremely lackluster and are nothing special. They are what you'd expect out of a decent, not great college. You would expect better facilities from even a "good" school. Color me disappointed.

The Entire School Is a Disappointment

I came here on scholarship, which is the primary reason for ignoring my lifelong dream of attending the Ohio State University and living in my favorite city, Columbus. The decision has been nothing but a disappointment and I am fixing this decision as soon as possible, transferring to Ohio State. The people at UC are simply self-absorbed and difficult to bond with. The facilities are pathetic for such a "highly-ranked university." The quality of campus is not even high-quality, in terms of maintenance. For instance, when I went on my tour in October of 2009, there were letters missing from one of the main academic building's title, posted on the side of the building. Here we are, over a year later (January 2011) and it has yet to be fixed. Stairs are lose all around campus, chunks of cement are missing, and the grass has never been alive, from what I've observed. The facilities are average at best, and the entire campus is always dirty. Finally, there are only 3 locations to use your expensive meal swipes, only one of which has reasonable hours. One is closed for 3-4 hour stretches at a time, and the final one is simply rarely open. Overall, UC has disappointed in every way. The entire experience has been regrettable and pathetic, I am counting down the days until I transfer.

Not Hard to Get Scholarships When the School Accepts Everyone

It's so easy to get into the school, that you can be in the top 50% of your high school class and still get a scholarship. For instance, I received both my acceptance letter and scholarship offer only 10 days after submitting my application. I only graduated in the top 35% of my high school class. No school should be this desperate for average students. However, actually receiving scholarships is simple.
