Help Outside of the Classroom
I'm currently majoring in human physiology with pre-med and the curriculum is very challenging. Although at times it may seem like you have no idea what is going on in a class full of 300 students, the professors, teacher's assistants, and many other student services are readily there to help with any questions you may have with the material. This has helped in so many ways, and by utilizing these resources and stepping up when you're confused and don't understand something, it will help you ultimately succeed.

Drinking Is More Popular
Drinking seems to be much more popular as opposed to drug use at Boston University. Enforcement of the legal drinking age seems to be overlooked if a party is busted by the police, typically there is no consequences for those who don't own the house/apartment that the party is held at.

Unpredictable Weather
Growing up in New England, I've grown used to the rapidly changing and unpredictable weather Boston has to offer. One day it could be sunny and 80s, the next day rainy and 50s. The winters are generally long and fairly harsh, there's always a lot of snow to have to deal with and walk through. Classes almost never get cancelled due to the frequency of the snow. When it's nice outside, however, it's beautiful and all you want to do it stay outside. Especially in the fall, it's beautiful.

Major Grade Deflation
Although Boston University is known for it's prestigious academics, what they don't usually tell you is their major grade deflation. BU is rated one the hardest university in the Northeast to earn an A because of this. Classes are very difficult and the average grades are lower as opposed to other colleges; it's almost impossible to receive an A in a class. Although this is compensated with the knowledge of this grade deflation by graduate schools, a 3.0 gpa turns into roughly a 3.3 gpa.

Beautiful Campus, Always Something to Do
Boston University is in the vibrant Boston city, with brownstone buildings and beautiful classrooms. The libraries, some of the most visited places on campus, are filled with unlimited resources and services that are at your disposal. There's always something to do on campus, the only problem is if you have enough time.

Frat Parties Are Always an Option
As a freshman, unless you already know an upperclassman who has an apartment, you typically party in Allston at the BU frats. The houses may not be as clean or good looking as the MIT frats (which are always another option, but getting into them is much more selective) there is always drinks and music. Generally, girls won't have to pay, guys, however, will. The trick to always knowing where parties are at is making connections and befriending frat boys if you're an underclassman. There's always something going on in Allston on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
