Vandy Dining Is Lacking

Rand is the main cafeteria and although they finally redid it, it is still disgusting. There are not many healthy dining options with fresh food on campus. For example, one of the few on campus restaurants is a barbecue place which is definitely not good for you and is not good for eating at frequently. The only brandname dining is Quiznos which isn't great. Vanderbilt forces you to have large meal plans which is expensive so it is very disappointing that it isn't good. Furthermore, there are lots of great places off campus that are one the card so they should add more meal money into the plans to make it better for students.

Diversity

I was never around unaccepting people while at Vandy. Many people had traveled throughout the world volunteering etc and were accepting of all different people. However, while there are many diverse people at Vandy from all different backgrounds, people stick to their homogenous groups. It is disappointing since college should be a time to get to know all different types of people and one can easily spend all of their time with people just like themselves. The mainstream group is white and wealthy and many of the other ethnic groups refuse to mingle with this group.
