Libraries

The libraries on campus are useful. My favorite is Founders Library because of its historical significance. There is even a mini museum inside. If you are a student who needs absolute silence when studying, Founders is the place for you. The building is very spacious with many nooks for you to disappear in. If you are more social, or you need to meet with a group for a project then the Undergraduate Library (UGL) is sufficient. This library very popular among students. Some of the chairs and tables are a little dated but you'll survive.

Off-Campus Dining at Howard University

A

Georgia Ave and U-Street

Howard is located in D.C. so there is pretty much a myriad of places to eat off-campus. Many of the restaurants on Georgia Ave accept our Dining Dollars. If you are a vegan/vegetarian I would recommend Sankofa and Soul Vegetarian. The latter can be on the expensive side but they do offer student discounts if you have your student I.D. present. On U-Street there are countless historical places to eat like Ben's Chilli Bowl (Delicious!) or lounge places like Busboys & Poets (they have free wifi). Finally, if you don't feel like walking or driving anywhere you can always order delivery. The dorms usually have a stack of menu's to choose from. Dandy's is popular among students because it's cheap and quick.

Drug Safety at Howard University

D

Full of Pot-Heads

The drug scene at Howard is mainly marijuana. People smoke a lot, especially at parties or on the Yard. I don't hang around it at all but I would assume the campus police doesn't really enforce the clean-campus rules because people still do it.
