Dorms Are Amazing
The dorms at SMU are mostly new or at least renovated. Several of them are suite-style and offer a shared study room between two dorms. Oh, and did I mention there is a provided maid service to clean the bathrooms once a week? Great communities and lots of space.

Underage Drinking Not Tolerated
I give this an A- because the police are pretty strict about underage drinking and they absolutely should be. It's not an A+ because it is still possible to get away with being drunk if you know what you're doing. Underage drinking is a tremendous mistake and SMU continues to expand its policies and procedures to prevent students from not only drinking underage, but drinking to the point where alcohol poisoning becomes a possibility.

Most Students Get Aid
The vast majority of students acquire scholarships upon entering SMU. To get the most, be sure to apply for "Early Action", as that qualifies you for more scholarship funds. The Financial Aid office is very easy to work with and always seems to know what they're doing (especially when it comes to loans).
