Off-Campus Housing at Lehigh University

C+

Low Quality

If you shop around early you can find some good stuff with decent prices but a lot of people don't and end up in crappy overpriced locations. If your not interested in hosting parties or living next to them your best bet will be on campus. The upper class apartments are really nice and are pretty reasonably priced.

Campus Strictness at Lehigh University

C+

Pretty Lax

Besides the crazy parking procedures campus rules tend to be pretty lax. The cops generally don't bust individuals at parties they just send every one home and most of the Gryphons (RAs) are pretty chill. But if you get busted by the cops your name and offense get printed in the school paper for every one to read about.

Transportation at Lehigh University

B-

Its Mediocre, Greek Life Is the Problem No the System Itself

There is a bus that runs between the three campus, Packer(the main campus,) Mountaintop (the research campus), and Goodman(the sports campus). For major school events on Goodman they have specific shuttles. Usually its a couple of buses that run every 10 min and they stop at three places on the main campus two spots within the frats two stops on Mountaintop and then the sports campus. If the weather is bad expect delays from icy roads and overcrowding. Members of the Greek life tend to be lazy POS's after class and take the bus up to the houses, which aren't that far, making it hard for people who have to get to Mountaintop, which is not it walking distance, for grad courses or research positions to get space on the bus.

Health & Safety at Lehigh University

Police Need to Get to Work

We have an accredited police force, which is saying something for the small size of our campus. However, while the officers are nice and do care about the school, they need to stop focusing on the parties and start patrolling the campus. In the last couple of years, muggings have been increasing and moving farther and farther on to campus. The Greek houses have also had several break-ins recently, along with the off-campus houses. The student would rather see the cops spend money on hiring additional patrol officers than buying themselves new patrol cars and Segways. When going off campus, if you in a group, you’re fine, but you need to be aware of your surroundings—the neighborhood around the school can get kinda sketchy. The health center is great. Make an appointment because walk-ins can take a while, but the nurses and doctors there are friendly and do an excellent job taking care of the students. They get an A.
