The Crossroads Is Great, and the Cafes Are Conveniently Located.
The main dining option on campus is the newly finished Crossroads in the Manwaring Center. There are lots of choices-- a bakery, a smoothie counter, a pizza counter, a hamburger counter, a chef's counter-- as well as various grab-n-go options. I particularly like their soup of the day (they always have two options) in a bread bowl, but I've always been happy with whatever I get there. In addition, there are three cafes around campus. The Garden View Cafe in the Ricks is really just a counter (it's right by the entryway, which causes some traffic congestion) and you have to go further in to find a place to sit and eat. They have quickie sandwiches as well as soups and pastas. I've never eaten at the Kimball Cafe, but it's on the main floor of the student services building and really conveniently located. Finally, Cafe McKay is located in the McKay library, actually has cafe seating, and sells both grab-n-go options and made-to-order sandwiches. The only thing I find lacking is a cafe that sells really good drinks. This is a Mormon school, so you won't find tea and coffee, but it would be nice if there was a place that sold a variety of ciders, hot chocolates, ciders, eggnogs (nonalcoholic, of course), and other warm drinks.
Most buildings also have vending machines and microwaves, as well. Students can get Dining Dollars cards, a prepaid card that's specifically for use on campus. I find it more convenient to just use my debit card though, since I don't eat on campus frequently enough to make Dining Dollars worth my while.
