Get a Car
Los Angeles has something for everyone, and multiple things for most people. The only bummer is that public transportation can be unreliable. Near USC, the California Science Center, Natural History Museum and Rose Garden are nice, and LA Live is just down the street. Unfortunately, the immediate surroundings beyond that are somewhat lacking. If you have some means of transportation, however, sky's the limit.

Tradition If You Want It
The Greek community has a lot of clout, but students who choose not to pledge will not feel left out. There are plenty of activities to do and opportunities to make friends if you aren't Greek. Most girls go to frat parties a few times (guys need an invite to get in), which are exactly what one would expect. Also, many Greeks are not just in the system to party, but to become active community members and network.

If You're a Nerd, Do TO
Those who want to be academically challenged -- especially those considering some sort of graduate school -- should definitely apply to the Thematic Option. The program replaces regular general education classes with special ones for TO students only. These classes are smaller and have the best and most enthusiastic professors at USC. The program is tough, however, and students participating in it can expect to read and write about twice as much as those taking regular classes, but the high calibre of peers and professors more than makes up for this.
