Completly Secure
I feel very safe on campus. There are security stations that will put you directly in touch with 911 and let them know your location on campus. There is a campus security shuttle that runs from 6pm-7am. The campus is well lit at night. If you live off campus and don't have a car, there are a few transits that run at night, and probably 30 during the day. The only downside is that don't run at all on the weekends.

Apartments run between 650 (if you're lucky) and 1000. Granted, some of those are shared by up to four people, but they're still expensive, when you consider adding in utilities. But, there are many options, and most are close to campus, some within walking distance. Also, a few will allow pets, though most will not.

Love It
I love it here at Auburn, am glad that I chose to come. It's a small town college with a big town feel. Also it really is a "family". People are helpful and friendly. Most of downtown Auburn is in walking distance, and the rest is only a mile or two away. You do have to really study to make good grades; if you let your social life get out of control, then your grades will plummet: it's all about balance.
