The network is usually pretty good in the towers, although if you are going to live on anything above the 5th floor, it would be best to get an cable just in case. Sometimes the network picks up and the gets lost but you get used to it.

Parking
Parking SUCKSSS and this is coming from a non-driver. You really do not need a car unless you commute but even then people use the metro and bus so yeah. You have to be willing to get to campus early for the best parking or you will end up walking further than needed to class.

Best Choice
This was the best decision I have ever made. Coming to UM is like a dream come true. You do not have to be rich, drunk, or high all the time to fit in. There is so much diversity on campus that you will find your niche. Whether it is a club, sport, or greek organization there is bound to be something for you. Yeah there are parties and stuff but majority of the people here work hard everyday and it shows, that is why we are #50!

Athletics Are the Ish
Despite not winning our Bowl game this year, you ahve to realize that UM is getting back on top as far as sports. Our Womens Basketball team is in the NIT Finals! Come on now! Athletics here are one of my favorite events to go to. There are always live and you can meet new friends who share the same interests in sports.

The Grove, Sobe, Etc...
The grove can be pretty creepy as far as walking around with a bunch of friends. Unless you have a fake, you will either need to spit out the cash or show some body to get into a bar/club except on Thursday, especially in SoBe. I stick to parites thrown by MCG on campus because they are 18+, close to campus, and always fun or i go downtown and party there. It all just depends on what you are looking for. Miami is what you make it!

Hecht - the True Freshman Experience
If you are really looking for a freshman experience to the T, live in Hecht your first year. Yeah, Stanford is way more chill and the people are nicer, but Hecht has the comradorie that Stanford doesn't. People in Hecht are much hyper and there is always something fun to do. It cna get annoying after a while but as long as you have friends on your floor/tower, then you are set.

Blatantely Obvious
People seriously walk around smelling like drugs everyday. They have "spots" that they go smoke in that are out in the open yet they don't get caught. Even in the dorms where drugs are prohibited, people still smoke, drink and much more in their room.

Sunset Place/Dadeland Mall
Sunset Place has good places to shop which have realtively good prices while Dadeland Mall is a little bit farther but has palces that sunset doesn't. They oth make it easy to find what you want/need fod school/partying and are good fro scoping out guys/girls ;)

Security
There has been a lot of things going on campus as far as robberies and shoots (JUST A BB GUN!!!!) but don't let it deter you. The system is better now tha nit was first semester and that is because everyone complained. Now you will get a call, multiple texts emails jsut to keep you notified.

Law School Library
The best library oncampus. Richter is nice but wayy to noisy at times. The law school just has a different vibe with it it is comforting instead of creepy.
