Is it expensive to study abroad?

Is it quite expensive to study abroad, but USF does a wonderful job informing you on the numerous scholarship opportunties on campus and off campus.

Depends where you're going and how long. But usually there are scholarships available from the college as well as outside sources to help with funding.

Where's the best place to get textbooks?

You can try FSU book store or Bill's Book corner. Both are on campus. You an either borrow or buy books from these places. However, to get a good deal, it is always better to buy online. Another option is to get it from the school library using Interloan Library or UBorrow

Yes, seems pretty cool. I am not a part of it but they are at market wednesdays...

Basically every university has some type of Asian club or association

Is it affordable to do things off campus? What is there to do in your free time?

There are a lot of coffee shops and midtown is a really nice area to hangout in. During Football seasons and on certain holidays there are a lot of activities downtown which is walking distance from campus.

I know there are sometimes concerts on campus but otherwise what is there to do in Gainesville and is it affordable for college students to do things in the local area?

Gainesville is very affordable. It is very much a college town so bars are cheap and there is plenty of fun stuff to in walking distance

What are the benefits of joining a sorority or fraternity?

HUGE! From making lifelong friends, networking, to great volunteering opportunities, joining Greek life can definitely change your college experience. I loved every minute of my Greek life experience.

You get to network with numerous individuals, make friends, and participate in numerous activities. Typically each sorority/ fraternity has its own "week" which they put on numerous events (social/ philanthropic based etc.)
