Special Security Measures
I appreciate the security measures that are taken at UCI. In the bathroom stalls there are instructions of what to do if there is a natural disaster, a shooting, or other frightening and dangerous events. It is helpful to review what you should do during those situations. Also, I have been surprised by how well they update me by text message when there is any threat to safety on campus such as a kid napping or theft.

Typical Student Looks
As I walk around campus I notice how other students are dressed. The majority of students dress casually, but in very nice clothes. Most wear sandals, and jeans but in a very fashionable sense. I sense that most are very fashion conscious and careful to look good.

Transportation
I live out of town and therefore commute to school. I am disappointed with the options available to commuters. I would ideally like to take the metro from my town to UCI and have a shuttle that can take me from the metro to an area close to class. But the metro stop is about 6 miles away and there is no public transit from the metro to the campus. Also, I carpool with classmates which helps. But I was surprised that their were no really benefits that I would expect by our "green" choice such as discounted parking prices.
