UVA Gyms
The UVA gyms are very nice and very accessible for freshman. In the largest, the AFC there is a huge hot tube for relaxing as well. The smaller gyms provide easier access to equipment such as treadmills. The AFC also provides a place to purchase smoothies for after workouts and even a mini bookstore.

Dorms
The Freshman dorms are split into old and new. There are advantages and disadvantages of both. The new dorms are very nice with many study rooms and t.v.s and are in very good shape. However they are a little further away from the center of campus so it takes longer to get to class. The old dorms are nice because there is a quad where everyone can socialize and the are very close to classes. However they do not have air conditioning and very few options for study lounges

Bus System
The bus system is generally the best option for first year transportation. They are very necessary in cold and rainy weather but when the weather is nice it is fine to walk to class. The usually come about every 10 minutes during the weekdays however the drivers are not always the greatest. On Sundays they do not start running until afternoon so it is almost impossible to have transportation to church or morning brunch.
