Off-Campus Housing Adventure
Santa Cruz is a beautiful place. I live five minutes from the boardwalk and ten minutes from the metro station. Rent is manageable.
However, during the summer parking was a little difficult (because it's tourist season, you need a special residential parking permit). And safety is a concern, I recommend that someone walk you home after dark, or pepper spray.

Banana Slugs
UCSC is amazing, not saying that I wouldn't change how I spent my college career. I wish that I had gone to more advising in the beginning, more planning of the future, but there is still time. Unfortunately, my major is impacted, wished that I had picked a minor or a double major earlier on. But this is more on me than it is on UCSC.
Being a banana slug is great, there's such a freedom at this school: naked run, the redwoods, yoga, koi pond, Porter caves, it goes on and on.
