A

Lawrence Kansas Dining

In Lawrence Kansas there is a variety of dinning possibilities. A couple restaurants off-campus accept student ID's as a form of credit. The Student ID's have money on them called Beak 'em Bucks, students use them for off-campus food and laundry. By using these Beak 'em Bucks at restaurants students can go to other places other then on campus dining halls. The restaurants are easy to get too and students can take the campus bus nearly everywhere around Lawrence. Lawrence Kansas is a great town for college students to go and eat.

The University of Kansas is a huge basketball school. Allen Fieldhouse is packed for every game and the students are energetic for every game. However, we also get excited for other sports. There is always a huge turn out for our football games even though we are not a football school. Also our basketball team is pretty well recognized by our student body. The Jayhawk spirit is vivid in our student section at all of our sporting events.

Drug Safety at University of Kansas

A

Drug Use at Kansas

The drug use on the University of Kansas is generally not talked about. There are, however, always cliques who participate in drug use. I believe the use is mild though compared to other schools known to be "party schools". The drug of choice at most colleges is alcohol and many student go to bars and parties. However there are smaller groups who smoke marijuana. But I do not believe that students in Lawrence do harder drugs then those.

Campus Strictness at University of Kansas

A

Rules Within the Dorms

The University of Kansas is strict on their rules within the dorms. there are quiet hours from 11pm-8am during the week. This helps keep the noise down. Residential Assistants patrol the hallways during these hours to make sure that people are being quite. During the Weekends the quiet hours are from 1am-8am. This allows people to be up and socialize but by a certain time people need to start being quiet for their neighbors connivence. Residence Halls are strict on visitors. If a person enters the building after 11pm they must swipe their ID to recognize that they live in that particular hall. If they have a guest then they must turn in a non-student ID and sign the visitor in. Within the dorms the University of Kansas is strict on their rules.

Inside Scoop at University of Kansas

A

Kansas Traditions

The University of Kansas is a school that honors tradition. One tradition at KU is the Bell Tower. It is said that if a student walks through the Bell Tower before he/she graduates that student will not graduate in four years. Many student believe this curse and stay far away from walking under the Tower. We also used the Bell Tower during KU football games in Memorial Stadium. Every time the Jayhawks score a touchdown the Bell Tower goes off and the crowd goes wild. Another tradition at KU is our Rock Chalk Chant and the tradition of basketball excellence. Within the walls of Allen Field House are memories of many basketball wins for the Jayhawks. During the final seconds of a winning KU basketball game a chant from the student section erupts. "Rock Chalk Jayhawk KU!" The entire stadium vibrates with the sound. The players, the coaches, even the press cameras can here the erie chant. The University of Kansas is proud of it's many rich traditions.
