Great Advisors
Communication Studies at the University of Rhode Island is one of the largest majors the school has to offer. Because of this, COM Majors are to choose their own advisers to guide them through their undergraduate degree. This gives students the comfortability and independence they need to grow as a student and beyond that, a strong member of society.

Historic Dorms Are Most Prevalent
University of Rhode Island dorms have a lot to be desired. Most are so ancient that it takes 20 minutes for showers to warm up and heat during the winter is impossible. Freshman dorms are naturally better for the school's attempt to lure them in and the school continues to build new ones for them. Thankfully, housing off-campus is a considerably better option.

We Welcome All Kinds
Though you may find many faux-Jersey Shore wannabes around campus, I am proud to say the University of Rhode Island makes strides toward hosting a very accepting community. On campus alone, we house the Women's Center, avid religious groups and Gay-Pride Activists. Other groups meet outside of the school to take part in various eclectic interests. Overall, URI does a great job accepting students who accept.
