Food, Food Everywhere!
During dining hours, there are many places, including most of the dorms, where you can find dining halls. Some of the dining halls offer many options that provide for just about any diet, while others offer less options. I have a friend who, because of her gluten intolerance, needs a specific diet, so the chefs cook her a personalized meal every time she needs it. The main issue with dining is at night when you need food, and the dining hall aren't open. There are cafes and other places, but they are reasonably expensive.

Free Buses to Just About Anywhere
With your M-Card, you can ride on the Ann Arbor buses for free along with the already free Blue Buses. They take you just about anywhere around Ann Arbor, including the mall. There are multiple free transportation services at night.

Gets Nasty
I like snow and rain in their respective seasons, but we tend to get really cold rain in early winter or nasty snow in fall. The students make the most of any weather though with dorm vs. dorm snowball fights and other similar activities.
