Off-Campus Housing at East Carolina University

East Carolina University: Off-Campus Housing

Living off-campus and attending ECU is not that hard of a task. Certain places, such as Pirate Place, have less than savory reputations, but managing rent and such is not too difficult. It is important that if you are going to live off-campus that you PLAN ahead of time how rent, groceries, etc. will be paid.

Luckily, many of the apartments are a part of the transit system that ECU provides so getting to class won't be much of a problem.

Some landlords are worse than others. My experience at University Suites made me feel as though they were lazy, but the rooms were extremely nice. At The Landing, well, it is nothing special. The Landing rooms are a bit small and one would think their amenities would be better, but it is somewhere to live. I suggest exploring your options FULLY before making a decision.

Campus Housing at East Carolina University

Campus Housing Is Pretty Nice

Some of the dorms may seem a bit older, but ECU has made a conscience effort to change that. So, many of the dorms are up to date and the RA's, who are fellow students, are pretty helpful as well.

Campus Strictness at East Carolina University

Campus Is Pretty Strict

Simply put, do NOT have illegal substances in your possession on campus. You should not have weapons or anything either, because these are two ways to get kicked out of campus housing and maybe even the school. If you're going to drink, just go downtown. It is close and there's more freedom.
