Housing Close to Campus Is a Struggle
Finding a nice apartment close to campus is very difficult, especially since students are only guaranteed housing in the dorms for their first year. Apartments close to campus are expensive, and you have to have good connections to get in. The best apartments are The Colleges, located right on campus. However, you can only get in if you know someone moving out or win the "lottery" to get an apartment.

Judicial Affairs Are EXTREMELY Strict
Davis has a very strict Student Judicial Affairs, particularly in regards to plagiarism and cheating. First-time offenders can easily be dismissed from school, depending on the severity of the case. Drinking in the dorms also lends to moderate punishments for first-time offenders, and severe for repeating offenders.

Easy Transportation
The Yolo Bus system and the extremely bike-friendly town make Davis very transportation-efficient. Campus and downtown are right next to each other, and everything on the edges of town is easily accessible by bus. The buses are free for students. Warning: if you have your own car, parking is a nightmare anywhere in Davis. The parking tickets are astronomically high. Stick to public transportation or bikes.
