Great Campus Safety
Of course, it's Chicago, so there is crime...but Loyola's campus safety takes lots of measures to ensure students' safety. There are always security officers walking around campus at night to keep the campus safe, and the head of campus safety was a Chicago police officer for thirty years, so I feel very safe on campus. When walking outside of campus, however, make sure that you do not flash money and cards, because that might put you in a situation for robbing. Just be smart about your safety, and don't walk alone at night. Always bring a buddy!

Options for Vegetarians
Although the meals aren't always satisfactory, Loyola does do a good job of catering to the wide population of students who are vegetarian or vegan. There are always multiple and varied options daily, which I think is nice. Also, there is a panini press in the cafeteria, which is popular. Several restaurants around campus can use your flex dollars, especially a great pizza place called Pete's, which serves great thick-crust pizza and gelato!

Hard for Under 21
Chicago is great, and a lot of people take advantage of the city. However, there aren't many on-campus options. There aren't houses for fraternities or sororities, so they rarely have parties, and you have to be 21 for clubs and bars, so it can be difficult to find parties around campus. However, the el train and cabs are always available for transportation.
