There Are All Kinds of People at Purdue.
Any type of person you are looking for Purdue has it. There are non-midwesterns, international students, country kids, the list goes on and on. Most people don't dress up for class. Sweatpants, pajama pants, and jeans are the norm. Also, some people here date and others just hookup, so whatever you want, I'm sure you can find what you need.

Basketball and Football
Purdue has amazing sports. Basketball is HUGE! Football is also a big deal, but basketball trumps. Other sports are big too, but not very many people go to watch them.
The recreational facilities are under construction now, but the building looks amazing and is supposed to be done within the next year.

Engineering
Once you get in, you are basically in. Only if you want to do certain kinds of engineering do you then have to apply for the program, like biomedical engineering or construction engineering and management. You can apply for those in the middle of freshman year, but if you are doing something else you don't have to declare until the end of freshman year.
