Addictive

Oberlin is hot. ish. and that ish makes it waaaay hotter. To kiss and tell, I have dated or hooked up with: A short hipster chick with huge boobs who smoked me up while we watched a zombie movie. A tight asian who looks like she belongs in an anime. A punk girl with a septum piercing and pink hair. A tall elegant woman who I met at a tango dance who took me back to her dorm room for some red wine and Bon Iver. Long story short, I visited my friend at UCSB and saw zero girls that I considered attractive after the quirky awsomeness that is Oberlin. We also have a pretty decent BDSM scene and obv gay/trans scene if you're into that.

ITS SO COLD YOU MIGHT DIE!

And I kinda like that a lot. There is something very therapeutic about walking across campus at 4AM during winter term in -20 degree weather while your eyebrows freeze to your hat.

Drugs If You Want Em

Oberlin is a great school if you want to do drugs and a great school if you don't. I personally drink 1 night per week and smoke weed every three days or so. About twice a semester I will drop acid or take shrooms. My friends range from hardcore stoners to people who have never drank or done drugs in their life. In my community at least, social events range from events where everyone is sober to some people drinking/smoking. There is never any real pressure to drink placed upon those who don't want to, and if you want to be intoxicated for an event you are welcome to be so as long as you aren't obnoxious.

Harder drugs are present and easy to find if you are interested, but don't apear to be a problem for very many people. Acid is the easiest to find and most used "harder" drug. Most people who use drugs like acid, are also open to experimentation with other psychodelics (shrooms, mescalin, etc), but these are harder to find and usually more exspensive. Hard drugs rarely effect the lives of those who do not want to interact with them and are usually done in private. Party drugs are pretty rare, but if you want molly you can find it. Overall the drug experience is pretty swell. My drug dealer usually gives me a hug when I buy from him.

Hard on Parties, Not on Users

Basically the only time you will ever get cited for anything is if you are underage and at a party and drinking. Unfortunately, since most of the housing is on campus, most parties get broken up by SNS before 1AM. They are much more lenient on weed use. I was once smoking a joint on a porch with some friends when SNS rolled up. The officer laughed at us and asked if we were having a good time then drove off. The wisdom tree, in the middle of north quad, is surrounded in a perpetual haze of marijuana smoke. Private drinking is also more tolerated, or at least basically imposible to get caught with. The best social situations are usually less than 10 friends in a dorm room with some booze, maybe some weed and a fun time.
