Diversity of UO
This school is very accepting of LGBT students. The campus is mostly liberal, so probably if you have an opposing view politically, it's not too accepted. The campus is predominantly white, but there's also a lot of Asians and international students. Most int'l students seem to come from South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, for the most part. Great atmosphere here.

Drinking Is the Most Common
among everyone--No matter where you go, it's going to be there. Weed is everywhere, but it's very easy to stay away from. Loads of hippies, so there will of course be loads of marijuana use. I'm not too aware of other drug usages, but probably if you look around, it'll be there...just not as prominent or common.

Public Transp. or Biking
is your best option. In this city, i wouldn't recommend driving your car. It's easy to find parking, but if you park on campus, good luck. There are designated bike lanes made especially for bikes that you can ride to campus and around Eugene and is very convenient. Most students tend to take this route. If you live near campus, the best is to walk. Another good way is to take the LTD. It is reliable, but you may have to get used to the crowdedness.
If you want to go to the airport, I suggest having a friend drive you, or take taxi. It's possible through bus too, but probably a hassle.
