Campus Dining at Bentley University

B

Decent

Seasons (the main dining hall) tends to become repetitive in its options after a while but people who say that they're sick and tired of Seasons just have to be a little creative. Putting whip cream on your dessert or chicken in your salad spices things up a bit. Although Bentley prides itself on having internationally diverse foods, they're veeery far away from being even close to authentic. Einstein's bagels in the library tends to be full from opening to closing and Lower Cafe (La Cava) is only open for lunch so people tend to order Yella's late at night or take-out.

Campus Housing at Bentley University

B+

Pretty nice

Slade Hall was just renovated so they now have environmentally-friendly bathrooms and new furniture and mattresses in the rooms. Trees hasn't gotten renovated yet but it's really not that bad. The rooms are a pretty good size too and you can gain a lot of space under your bed if you raise it. The walls are really thin though. If the people in the room next to you are watching tv then you can hear it through your walls and, if your room is completely quiet, you can hear them talking even though they're talking at a normal volume. Lots of people tend to walk through the hallways at all hours of the day unless you live in the far Trees (Maple, Oak, Spruce) then nobody comes through.

Diversity at Bentley University

C

Lacking

Bentley prides itself on how diverse we are but we're really not. The general student body is conservative and business-minded. There are lots of organizations/clubs on campus like BASA (Bentley Asian Student Association) and La Raza but, even though they say anyone that can come, they really only have members of that race/culture.

Transportation at Bentley University

D

Horrible!

Everyone says that the Bentley shuttle is really good so you don't need a car on campus but you definitely do!! The Bentley shuttle comes once every half an hour typically BUT if the shuttle is full then they won't let you on. The shuttle is like a typical charter bus and doesn't allow anybody to stand in the aisles. The bigger shuttle lets on ~60 people and the smaller shuttle lets on ~30 people and then you have to wait for the next one which happens EVERY time you try to take the shuttle on a weekend. DON'T take the shuttle if you have to meet up with someone because chances are that you have to wait about an hour to get on it. The Bentley shuttle stops in Waverly Square (pretty much nobody gets off there) and in Harvard Square. From Harvard Square you can take the T subway line to Boston but if you want to go somewhere that's a little far from the T lines then you're screwed. The closest bus is a 20min walk from campus so you have to take a taxi everywhere which you'll do a lot because Target and Shaws are popular destinations.

Inside Scoop at Bentley University

A

Some tips

Choose to go random with your roommate freshman year! Lots of people chose people they met at orientation but they quickly found out that their roommate wasn't who they thought they were and things turned sour.

Bentley sends out like 50 emails a day which can get annoying but they're about networking events, career events, and other opportunities to make the most out of your experience here.

Freshmen have to go to a few plenary sessions (info sessions) about alcohol (big one!!), rape, diversity, etc so be prepared for sitting in the auditorium bored out of your mind.

Don't be one of those people who have to get carried away by an ambulance within the first week of school for alcohol poisoning.
