does JMU offer an over night stay program? I have visited other schools and they have programs where you can stay overnight to get the full experience of the school, I was wondering if JMU had one and where I sign up?

I'm not positive, but i'm sure we do have something like that. I would call the office of admissions or possibly the office of residence life.

Not that I know of, I've only heard of that for athletes.

I have a 3.4 weighted gpa and my SAT scores are 1640 for the 2400 scale, I plan to take them again and get around 1800. I am also taking the ACT on Saturday. I am involved in year round sports and I took two AP classes last year and I am taking 3 this year with two classes at our local community college. I am also involved in a leadership club at our high school and I am in state. What are my chances?

I would say your chances are quite high and I would definitely apply. Although academics are a big component in acceptance at UMD so is involvement and they will love your participation in sports and clubs. The average SAT this year for Freshman was only about 1350. I believe you should apply to the University of Maryland College Park community.

was the 1350 score out of 1600 or 2400?

Mm I think, with those stats, it's a little farther than reach school.

big chances, if you arent accepted ill be surprised, but if you dont get in dont give up! you can do a transfer program from a community college and most community colleges guarantee admission into most instate universities if your in honors so never back down! also, i got the same except score on SAT and i was accepted so dont stress too much over the SAT because its a pointless test that is not worth the stress at all.

A huge chance

Can I get in? I have 530 reading, 510 math, and a 570 writing. I am taking the ACT for the first time on September 8th. I am in sports year round and I am a captain on our cross country team. I have a 3.4 cumulative weighted GPA and I am about to enter my senior year. I am taking three AP classes this year and took 2 last year. I am also taking two classes at our local community college. I am going to be an in state student. I am also taking the SATs again. I am in a leadership club at our school also. I am going to be an inst What are my chances of getting in?

From the people I've seen get accepted. If you raise your critical reading and math to over 600, and apply priority, you could get in.

Are you in state? If so, then I'd say that you still have a chance of getting in.

Based on your stats, I'm a little hesitant to say yes. If you are in-state, I think that there is a fighting chance if you apply early and include your resume. Pitt also gives you option of writing an essay so I definitely would say write that. If it's polished, the chance of you getting in seems very likely in my opinion.

I would say that it definitely depends on what your intended major is. As it is at any school, certain programs in schools are ranked higher than others. For instance, they can only take 100 nurses into their program each year, but they can take 250 psychology students. Regardless of that, you definitely need to get a solid ACT score. If you are planning on playing sports here, it is good that you do sports year round. It is also good that you are taking AP classes, but more importantly they want to see your grades in those classes and your scores on the tests. The essay can definitely help you, as well as if you are in-state. Good luck this year, and best of luck applying to pitt!
