Convenient, Not Spacious
The dorms are hardly spacious or luxurious, but they are conveniently located near all the dining halls and classrooms. Plus, they provide a great atmosphere to meet people and they have great study rooms.
The best dorm is New Res (which looks like a hotel), and the worst dorm is Pritchard because it used to be all boys.

More Fun, but Less Convenient
Apartments are inexpensive and beautiful. Most have pools, free tanning, and a gym. Most are about 2 miles from campus, so you can walk, but most people take the Blacksburg Transit (bus). The bus can be a pain (especially when trying to get to class), but overall it is more fun to live off campus.
There is towing for people who don't live in the complex, which can be annoying- but there is often parking on the street.

People Come from All Over to Party With the Hokies
Downtown is the place to be, any night of the week, if you are 21. Otherwise, there are always house parties or fraternity parties (which cost nothing for girls, and sometimes $3 for guys). Most places are within walking distance, but most greek organizations have DD's as well. There are also Hooptie cabs that cost about $5.
You can find all sorts of parties at Tech. People are always throwing themed dance parties, shows, keg races- there is always some place to go and something to do!

Volleyball
Playing volleyball outside the dorms every Sunday has become a tradition.
