Campus Dining at Arizona State University

C-

Lots of Money; Little Choice

The best thing in the MU is Starbucks which always seems to have a 30000000 people line. Obviously, I'm exaggerating a tad but I did overhear on a campus tour the other day that Arizona State's starbucks is the 3rd busiest in the nation. There's Papa John's, Taco Bell, Chick-fil-a, Quizno's, Burger King and apparently they recently opened a healthy restaurant upstairs but it also has the most expensive food (I hear), and considering that I already spend about $8 on the fast-food stuff I haven't dared to make the trip up the stairs. The best option is to just walk across the street and take advantage of the non-campus dining options. If you are a freshman get your parents to buy you the package with sun dollars, MU dollars and the dining hall passes because then you're options get a lot more exciting. I had the dining hall only and that meant only the dining hall at my dorm and the one in the MU which meant I had a lot less friends then people with the all encompassing passes.

Football

Buy a season pass as soon as they are available. Football games are the best part of college. Even though our team is pretty horrible it's a great excuse to get drunk and meet people that will love to go out and party with you for the next four or five years. Baseball games are free to students and although there's a lot less drinking it's still a good excuse to get some girl friends together and admire muscular boys in tight pants.

ASU Is No Longer a Party School

Despite Arizona State's bad rap as a cake school the programs they offer is specific degrees are really good. They incorporate internships into your academic life so that almost no one graduates without having served an internship somewhere. It's up to the student to take advantage of everything that is offered, but everyday fun activities are sponsored and if you hang around the dorms on move-in day there's a chance of scoring free pizza and personal grooming supplies. Also, it's in the heart of Tempe which means there's a ton of restaurants and bars/clubs within walking distance of school.
