Schenectady- Not So Sketchy After All!
A lot of people offer much cynicism when asked to describe the city of Schenectady. However, coming from a town of only 1 stoplight and no fast food joints in sight- I was in heaven. Sure, there are parts of Schenectady that are sketchy- but what city isn't sketchy? Just like if you were in New York City, there are some streets you wouldn't want to be walking down at 2am by yourself, but then again, there are some streets where it would be perfectly acceptable to do so. My favorite part of Schenectady is State Street. On State Street, you can find Bomber's bar with great mexican food, a brand new cinema, the historical Proctor's theater, and multiple coffee shops and pizza joints. It is definitely evolving into a classic college town!

Just Like Any Other College
The dining at Union College is like any other university. West dining hall, the freshman dining hall, has excellent breakfasts and lunches, but the dinners are sometimes disappointing (check out the pasta specials at lunch- they're the best!) Dutch, located at the student center, is a great alternative to get wraps, salads, and soups. The best meal ever- Friday nights at Upper!
