Good Apartments Hard to Come by
Charleston is a ctiy, therefor apartments and other off-campus housing is expensive. Also, since it's very historic, a lot of apartments/houses are old. The apartments closest to campus are the first to go and the most expensive. Start looking early!

Gorgeous Weather
The weather in Charleston is the best. It doesn't rain too much, but when it does rain, it pours. It can be 65 in January, and mid-March you can be laying out at the beach. Summers are VERY hot & humid though, so invest in an a/c.

No Financial Aid Unless You're Dirt Poor
My family is not crazy wealthy. Financial aid definitely was needed for me, but of course I didn't get ANY because my father has a relatively average paying job. I got no scholarships, and no grants.
