Downtown South Orange
The downtown area of South Orange, ,NJ is great for food and some entertainment. There are a great selection of restaurants and diners, and the train station is so close. All of the ammenities start within a block off campus, and the train station is only about a 10 minute walk. Many of the venues also offer student discounts with your ID, and/or accept you school debit account (Pirate's Gold) as a form of payment.

Nightlife
The best nightlife is going to be a short train ride into the city, however the nightlife on and close to campus is a lot of fun too. You shouldn't have too much of a problem finding a good time.

There Are Now Zipcars on Campus!
There is a school shuttle that will get you around town, and to the mall or Target; the cost however is $1 per ride. NYC is only a quick walk to the train station and about a 35 minute ride. It really is quicker than you'd imagine to get into the city, and it's one reason I love this school.
We also just got ZipCars on campus, they offer student discounts and the rates are cheap. You should have no problems at any time getting where you need to go.
