Health & Safety at Belmont University

A

Very Safe

There's an occasional crime on campus, but the majority of the time, it's drug/alcohol related. I have always felt safe here. Obviously, keep your doors locked (especially if you live in a bigger hall) but you should be fine. Bepo (Belmont Police) are always riding around on their bikes and Campus Security is always willing to help if something does go wrong.

Facilities at Belmont University

A

Plenty of Stuff to Do on Campus

In the Beaman Student Life Center, there's a gym, a coffee shop, and places to study. The Beaman is connected to the Curb Event Center and Curb Cafe. The library has computer labs and plenty of places to study. The only negative comment I have is that there aren't enough practice rooms for music students...

Nightlife at Belmont University

B+

It's Nashville...

so there are a ton of concerts. Bars are pretty much 21+, if you're into that kind of thing.

Off-Campus Dining at Belmont University

A-

There Are a Few Places Nearby...

If you want to eat after 11PM, you pretty much have to eat off campus. There's a Circle K across the street, which is right next to a coffee shop and a Mexican restaurant. There are a few other restaurants in walking distance from Belmont. But if you want more variety, there are a ton of restaurants closer to Vanderbilt. Take a car (or find someone with a car) and you've got plenty of options.

Drug Safety at Belmont University

A

There's a Drug Scene, but It's Not Everywhere

In a school full of hipsters, of course there are going to be some pot smokers. If people smoke, they do it off campus. (Cigarettes are banned, but most people just go across the street). There have been a few people that have gotten suspended for drugs, but they can come back the next semester. There's not much alcohol visibility either. There's very little alcohol on campus and you'll occasionally see someone staggering around campus at 3AM. But it's not that bad. Basically, unless you want to be a part of that scene, it's not going to be a hindrance at all.
