Computers at University of Nevada - Las Vegas

B+

Computer Labs/Printing

Computer labs at UNLV are typically crowded during lunch time and finals week. Other than that, you can usually find a spot. I prefer the smaller computer labs because they are usually tucked away and are rarely full. You also tend to see the same people there also. A laptop isn't really necessary since most professors post the notes, plus you can't print from a laptop on campus, which is the main reason I usually use the computers, if I forgot to print something at home. I just wish printing didn't cost money. We pay so much in tuition that it should be covered as part of our student facilities fees.

Greek Life at University of Nevada - Las Vegas

Greek Life Is Not So Great at UNLV

Greek Life really seems to dominate the campus at UNLV and there is constant pressure to join. Most, not all, of Greek Life are lazy and barely go to class. They only seem to socialize with other Greeks and take up all the tables in the student union. Most of them act very stuck up. There are a handful who actually display the qualities a Greek should display and have gone on to do great things and the experience has been a good thing for them. But for the most part, I can't stand being around any Greeks and I hate walking past them. And they really hate when non-Greeks attend their parties. They wear their letters all the time to separate themselves from the rest and treat it like a caste system and if you even attempt to talk to them and you're not Greek, good luck. They'll look at you like you have 3 heads.

Overall Experience at University of Nevada - Las Vegas

A+

Favorite Part of UNLV

My favorite part of UNLV is the my major department, Nutrition. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. My teachers are amazing and so knowledgeable and are always willing to work with a student if a special exception needs to be utilized. I was originally a Biology major and am so, so happy I changed my major. One of my teachers even let me do an independent study with her over the summer since I had the most free time, but she allowed me to register for it in the Fall when my student loans and Millenium Scholarship took effect because I couldn't afford summer school. I was able to focus solely on that class with no distractions. The Nutrition department is amazing and it definitely should never be a program that gets cut from UNLV.
