The Gym Is Nice
The gym is a good area to go work out. It is very large with a large number of options for students to choose from to work out on. There are also two classrooms that offer many classes that are really cool.

Drugs and Alcohol Common
Drinking is a very popular scene for students here. However, the availability of drugs in Los Angeles is very high so many students smoke marijuana frequently.

Good but Could Be Better
I really think that loyola marymount is a good school, just not for an environmental science major. there really is no "green initiative" even for being in Los Angeles and being fairly up-to-date on other aspects of college life. I would really prefer a place that emphasized sustainability more.

Pretty Safe
The campus is safe itself but the surrounding community has its scary spots. Westchester is a quiet community but at the same time Westchester Park can be scary at night and same with Playa del Rey.

Don't Eat on Campus
We have Sodexo as our food provider which is where the school went wrong.

Bike Rule
There is a section of campus where you have to walk your bikes, which has caused some major student protests. It is the dumbest rule. If someone doesn't know how to ride a bike and steer away from the pedestrians then they shouldn't have a bike. Similarly, if someone doesn't know how to walk out of a bicyclists way then they shouldn't be walking.

Not a whole lot of students in my major so a lot of specialized attention given to every student and lots of internship/research opportunities available.

Over the Parties
College parties around LMU get broken up really early because the area is all residential with old people or families that call the cops. Try to go to the bars in Manhattan Beach or Hermosa b/c that's where it is actually fun!
