Old Town and Gaslamp District
Mexican food in Old Town San Diego is very hard to beat in California. It's walking distance from USD and features so many delicious and diverse restaurants. The Gaslamp District in Downtown SD is a lot of fun. It's definitely a hot spot for students and SD residents alike. Dick's Last Resort in the Gaslamp District is a fun place—all of the staff treats guests horribly, but it's their job! It's a really hilarious place to go—it's the only restaurant I've ever thrown food at my waiter!

Freshman Dorms Are Great
I have to say, USD treats their freshmen to some great housing options, from suite-style options to large one-room options where roommates have their own bathroom, walk-in closet, and balcony looking out to the ocean! There's also single-sex options for students who prefer that.

San Diego Weather = PERFECT
There is no way I can complain about the weather at USD. It's most often 75 and sunny, so I can't complain.

The food is top-notch
I don't think too many college students actually look forward to eating at their school's cafeteria, but I know my roommates and I couldn't wait for meal time at USD. The food is not only delicious, it's diverse and really healthy! The Student Life Pavilion is the main dining area and features food from all over the world. When you want to change things up, you can eat dinner at the five-star restaurant on campus, which accepts meal plan dollars! Overall, it's an excellent dining experience at USD.
