Living in Dorms
I currently live in Bennett tower in Evansdale and it defiantly has it's ups and downs. all the dorms are strict with visitors. if you want a friend to stay the night they must be the same gender and be checked in by midnight. now checking in and being in is two different things. as long as the person is 18+ and has a license and the front desk has their phone number y'all can come back at anytime! you guys just need to come back at the same time. but all the dorms are like this, it's not just towers. also, if you want someone of the opposite sex to stay the night, the RAs usually don't care and usually laugh about it but make sure you have a guy friend check them in and they also have to come in with you when it's time to come home. it can be a pain but i think all universities run this way so it's kinda the norm! also, after 9 at the dorms you have to bring your id with you to get back in. which can be frusterating when you just when out for a smoke, but what can ya do?

OUT OF STATE KIDS!
So WVU offers a lot of programs like sports and exercise psych that other state schools don't offer. WVU will give you in-state tuition if you can find a program they have that a school in your state doesn't. so look around and try to get intrested in something like that. It will save you soooo much money! also when you send your transcript they automatically look to see what scholarships you can get with your grades. so getting money here is so easy, you just gotta apply!

Sports and Exercise Psychology
I'm from Northern Virginia and wanted to go to dubV but didn't want to pay out of state tuition. My mom found out about the sports and exercise psychology major that gave me in state tuition because Virginia schools don't offer the prgram here. My grades were okay in high school, like a 3.2, so getting into the program wasn't hard, i just had to apply. My friend though did the same thing and her SAT scores sucked so she didn't get into the program. But WVU also does this thing where you can make a degree. I don't know how it works so look in to it.

Off-Campus Housing Is Easy to Find
Every building at WVU looks old and dirty on the outside, it's just how this town is. But the people who rent out the houses and apartments do an amazing job making the inside beautiful and confortable. WVU offers a lot of resources to help find off campus housing and you can generally find a place to live according to your needs and wants. There is also a free service the school provides and they will read your housing contract for you and help you better understand it. Generally people pay around $500 or $600 a month. Parking is usually a seperate cost along with utilities.

DRUNK BREAKFAST
this isn't a joke. WVU offers you nachos till midnight on Friday and Saturday and after that they offer eggs and biscuits. They literally hand you free food when you have the drunk munchies. It's part of their Up All Night program at the Mountain Lair and they usually have something fun for people to do who don't go out and drink on the weekends. It's fun to watch though when you are drunk and I love nachos when I'm drunk.

Sororities
There are 8. Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Phi, Alpha Xi Delta, Chi-O, Delta Gamma, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Pi Beta Phi, and Sigma Kappa. Go through rush and get the feel for every single sorority. Also, try it before you just assume it's not for you. Keep an open mind, that's what college is all about. Since greek life here is kinda small compared to the south, we don't really have rivalries. We are all greek and all get along. Greek organizations also socialized some with non greek organizations so there isn't the hatred of greeks and non greeks.
