When do deferred students hear back?

end of march with the 2nd round applicants

I was a deferred student or given a letter of "conditional acceptance" in March of 2010 and heard back from UW-Madison Admissions in July of 2010...it was the longest wait of my life.

When do the deferred students hear back?

It depends on the student and when you received your notice of being deferred, and when you submitted your application. You'll usually hear back though by March/April-they try really hard not to keep students waiting too long.

I've heard that Illinois residents get a discount at IU. Is that true?

No, no other state wants any kind of reciprocity with our super-corrupt system. Plenty of scholarships are available though.

Nope.

No. Although 40% of this year's incoming freshmen class were from out-of-state, you will pay much more than Indiana residents. Scholarships are extremely competitive.

I'm going to be a senior in a college prep HS, and my GPA is a 91.5 on a scale to 100, which is a 3.6-3.7 on a 4.0 scale. I have taken a few honors classes and I will take 1 AP class my senior year. The rest of my classes are considered "accelerated", but they don't weigh those classes. My last ACT was a 30, but that was my second test so I think I can get a 31 or 32 by the time I apply. My E.C are JV lacrosse, my schools service programs, and Insignis, which is a school club that plans and helps with school events. I am also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, attended a National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine during the summer, and also work as a biller for a doctor's office. Will my GPA prevent me from getting accepted, or will my test scores, E.C, etc. help me get in?

Go to Notre Dame's website and find who the admissions counselor is for your region. He/she will advise you on if you should apply early or regular based on your information. Good luck!

i think you are looking okay for RD. your ECs are good but remember that other students will have around the same or even better ECs! Its good that you have community service on there though, ND likes that :) Study up for that ACT!

Youre almost like me. If you live in Michigan, you will have a good chance. Otherwise its around a 40% chance.

I don't live in Michigan, but does it help that I am in the process of organizing a service trip to the Philippines?

I forgot to mention that I have taken a few honors classes and one AP. Also my school is college prep (if that helps at all)

You never know if you don't apply but I think you're chances are good. Keep up with the extra curricular activities, high gpa, and try to find some leadership role to make your application look better.
