Good...Not Great
I personally enjoy the majority of the restaurants on campus but there isn't anything special. All of the good thing are too expensive so you won't be able to get much without using dining plus.
A little bit advise though don't get the 21 meal plan. You will not have time to eat 3X's a day 7X's a week. 14 or 18 would be best.

Not Much Racially
There aren't that many minorities on campus. For example, African-Americans made up on 6% of the overall population. The University is trying to become more diverse racially. However, I'm not confident that it will ever happen.

New Family
I would like to believe if you just open yourself up, you will meet some amazing people. You don't have to join 10 clubs either. All you need to do is keep your dorm door open at the very least. The majority of the people on campus are great people.
I live almost 4 hours away from Ball State and I am not in contact from anyone from my hometown. The friends that I have made this year have become my "Ball State Family."
