Poughkeepsie Blues, but the Hudson Valley Is Interesting
Kind of depressing and barren, but there are some interesting locations if you have a car and are willing to explore. While Poughkeepsie itself is pretty drab (the food however isn't terrible), the Hudson Valley is filled with interesting places. Check out Hyde Park, home of the awesome Everyready Diner and a vintage Roller Rink, Roller Magic. There is also an epic haunted house only 40 minutes away in Millbrook called "Frankenstein's Fortress" that is really a hidden treasure

Uneven but Charming
On Campus housing varies wildly from dorm to dorm and room to room, which is great if you land that two-room double in Cushing with its own private bathroom or if you nag the stain-glassed bejewled suites in Joss, but terrible if you live in a musty closet of a room on the 5th floor of Raymond. Dorm communities can be fun and homey but also obnoxious.
