Hofstra Atmosphere
Hofstra is a wonderful school, the campus is beautiful like an Arboretum. There is no need to go anywhere else, statues, gardens, a variety of restaurants. Hofstra is like a mini city unto itself. Although Hofstra is located in the town of Hempstead which is not so good on any level it is nearby to many other towns and cities. Hofstra is just a short ride to NYC via train best taken from Mineola instead of Hempstead, and Long Islands other historic towns have wonderful cultural attractions activities shopping and are safe such as Garden City five minutes away which is the next town. Other towns are Brookville, Northport, Babylon, Huntington, Montauk, Port Jefferson to name just a few. Jones Beach is nearby ten minutes a world famous beach. Hofstra is accross the street from the Nassau Colliseum where there are many different types of entertainment and sports. Westbury Music Fair also located in Nassau County offers music, comedy, and other entertainment.

Diversity
Hofstra is a diverse atmosphere there are exchange students from all over the world. We all get along wonderfully.

Hofstra Offers a Variety of Everything.
There is a variety of academic programs more than something for everyone, sometimes it is hard to decide. Social scene is great there are wonderful facilities everywhere, restaurants, gardens, computer labs etc. The computer lab at Calkins is brand new with couches to work on group projects or just do homework with friends. Many clubs to join, or create your own, and of course greek life.
