Somewhat Edible
The dining halls serve the same foods every day. There is a separate restaurant that has better food, but no matter where you go on campus there is no "good" food if you wanted any.

Walking or Bus Is the Only Way Around
There is no possibility of driving to classes. The parking passes allow students who live at the college to only park in certain lots, most of which are near the dorms and no where near the class buildings.

Somewhat Knowledgeable
The professors here are somewhat knowledgeable about what they are teaching, but there are some that seem to know the bare minimum about certain subjects. These occasions are very clear and it is annoying when the students know more than the professors do about certain topics.

People Don't Realize the Options
Many people don't realize that there are security escorts available if a person feels unsafe. All they have to do is call the security office and someone will be sent over immediately. I don't know of many colleges that offer this kind of thing, but it's nice to know that they are there.

Tough, but Helpful
The accounting program at Slippery Rock is pretty difficult. There are the typical classes that "weed out" all of the students that are unable to make it in the field, but that is needed in my opinion. It is better that people realize early on whether they can do the career or not. The professors in accounting here are very knowledgeable and seem to really care about their students and the academic success. That almost seems like a rarity anymore.

New Res Halls Are Awesome
I have lived in the new residence halls for the past 3 years, and they are like mini apartments. I loved living here the first two years, but once you get to be an upperclassman, dealing with the freshman gets to be too much. The apartments on campus are really nice as well. The only downside to them is there is no elevator, so moving is awful! There are still 2 old style dorms on the opposite side of campus, I've heard good and bad about them, but they seem to still be in decent shape versus buildings falling in around you as I have seen at other colleges.

It's Pretty Great
As always, there are always the ups and downs of any school. Slippery Rock is no different. There are the amazing staff and faculty that are willing to help or just say hi when passing by people they recognize. There is also the profs that tend to not know what they are doing, which makes for a long class. Overall, I'm pretty happy with my choice to attend this school versus the other offers I had.

Great Fans
While I don't go to many sporting events, I do know that especially at football games, the fans are crazy! I know several people who go to the basketball games and say that the stands are typically packed as well. I don't think the other sports get all that much attention around here, but the athletes are all really hard working.

Slippery Rock Is Different, That's for Sure
We have some really odd weekly things that we do here, but it's all in good fun. As usual, we have Green and White Fridays for school spirit. On that day, we also have Rub the Rock for good luck because we have a huge rock in the middle of our quad. We also do Thursdays in Black to fight against violence. This is something that I find different, but interesting to see how many people actually participate. At random times throughout the year there will be small prizes given to random participants in these days through different organizations.

Happy Bus All the Way!!!
We have two busses that run daily during the week. These are called the happy bus due to the drivers that we used to have were always really happy to see the students and welcomed everyone with smiling faces. There is an on-campus bus that runs every 20 minutes and goes to various places on campus, which is great for rainy or cold days. Then there is an off campus bus that runs every 40 minutes to a few places on campus as well as the local Giant Eagle and some apartment complexes that are typically all Slippery Rock students.
